I guess at this point I really should call this a low buy and not a no buy year :/
> What I Bought:
Last month I bought two things (not including tickets to past/upcoming events) and put them on zip pay, so I had to pay those off. I finally found a replacement black-on-black shearling jacket on Depop ($25), and it's perfect! And I bought a dress ($13.97 - down from $199.95) from the Pilgrim outlet. I read reviews on the Myer website which convinced me. It'll be a well-loved item in this new wardrobe of clothing that fits me that I am building.
I also picked up a plain black blazer ($4) and blackwatch tartan scarf ($4) while shopping secondhand. I spent a loooooooooong time looking for the scarf - it has been on my wishlist for a very loooooooooooooong time!
Total: $46.97
I went to the theatre for 42nd Street ($58 ticket/$12 programme), STELLA: A New Australian Musical (free ticket/programme), Sweet Charity (free ticket/$15 programme) and Pride and Prejudice* (Sort of) (free ticket/programme). I went to the cinema for How to Talk Australians (free ticket) and Tuner ($10).
> What I Learnt:
I learnt that I am able to say no to buying things I like. It just took some time to get me here. I guess though that it helps that both my car rego is due and my phone credit runs out next month so that takes priority.
> Temptations:
I can't remember being tempted by much. I think I've been so concerned about money that anything I saw that I even remotely liked, I tried to put out of my mind. I'm getting better at saying no to items I don't need.
I did, however, sign up for the dref early EOFY sale so I could potentially get the Elm Sweater. I didn't. I couldn't justify the price, and the care instructions are too much for me. I'd rather just stick in the washing machine.
There were maybe some other online clothes that I bookmarked that you'll see soon.
I am VERY tempted right now by two online pieces of art. I've even considered going on another payment plan (even though I'm still currently paying off two) or blowing my savings fund, but I'm trying not to do that!
