The Incognito Art Show is back for 2026! With over 20,000 A5-sized pieces up for grabs at $100 each, every artwork sold helps raise funds for development programs for artists living with disability.
The coolest thing is that the identity of the artists remains anonymous until sold, so you could score an exclusive one-off piece by a well-known artist or an exciting up-and-comer. Categories include portrait & people; text; landscape & nature; aboriginal & indigenous; architecture, interiors & urban; botanicals & flora; food & drink; animal; children's artworks; sport; vehicle & transport; still life & objects; and abstract.
Last year I purchased two artworks. The one above is ''Conscious", made from acrylic and cardboard, by Karl Reimann, a graphic designer and creative. My wish list was packed with mainly animal prints again (see 2024), but nothing was speaking to me. I had seen this one earlier and immediately dismissed it. The website really did it dirty, so it wasn't until I saw it blurred and tiny in the background of a news segment that I was intrigued by its size and scale. I had no idea what I was getting but got it anyway. It's so out of character for me, but I love its quirkiness/uniqueness. The second was a piece by Millet.ish that I bought for a friend (he adored it!).
I haven't decided if I'll buy one this year. I'm on a tight budget at the moment but maybe I will eventually. But it's a cause worth supporting and I still adore all three of my artworks that I have from previous years.
In person and online starts are happening now :)

Celebrating forty years since its first staging in Australia, Cats the musical is currently playing at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne until January 31 before moving to Brisbane in February.

Due to popular demand, it was announced last month that Harry Potter: The Exhibition
at the Fever Exhibition and Experience Centre in Brunswick had been extended until 30 November 2025.
As a long time Harry Potter fan, this was my third ever HP exhibition and by far the best.

Last year I purchased the two artworks pictured above. The first piece is 'Boo' by Jessi Hooper, a self-taught artist who began painting in 2019 when she became a wheelchair user. I love the quirky, oddness to the piece. It never fails to make me smile. The second is 'Real Tiel' by Haley Potter, a pin-up artist and creative. I was drawn to it because it reminded me of 80s films (my fav!), namely Weekend At Bernies, and my love for Andrew McCarthy.
I'm allowing myself up to three purchases this year. My wish list currently sits at over 100 pieces eek!
I am admittedly not the biggest Les Misérables fan. While I’ve seen the stage musical (as well as
the film of the same name) and have always been impressed, this rendition was by far my favourite!

I didn’t see it for a number of reasons (and only had time for one show)
but mainly seeing something so complex on little sleep after over 30 hours of plane travel
didn’t seem like a wise idea. So, with anticipation comes high expectations.
Ultimately, I don’ regret my decision but it was worth the wait.
