HOME: Declutter, Dehoard and Design

I've been wanting to change up my walk-in-wardrobe for a while now and that meant making sure I had all the same coat hangers. I was sceptical but it makes all the difference. Things sit so much nicer and I can find what I'm looking for.

Anyway, I wanted to share the results and a bit of a look into my bedroom. I've always had an interest in design and my room has changed so much in the last couple of years. I'm a hoarder by nature but I'm getting a lot better - and I can only get better in 2013.

My birthday is less than a month away (hooray!). I'm not one of those people who demands that everyone must buy her a present. If friends show up to whatever birthday plans I may have, that's a gift all in itself.

So here's my birthday/Christmas wishlist that I will eventually get around to buying for myself :-) I always buy myself the best presents lol At least I know I won't be disappointed!

NEW: Printed Speakers by Typo

My Ipod dock died a couple of months ago and I have yet to find a suitable replacement (price, features, size etc). A friend has given me his Ipod dock to use for the moment but the volume button doesn't decrease (only increase) so it plays very loud - which isn't good when you just want some light background music.

So cue - Printed Speakers by Typo. They were $5 with purchase. I have accepted that they probably won't last long and the sound quality isn't superb but for now, they'll do. Besides they are cute and portable. I chose the bird print - it's very me, no?

Oh and FYI, if curious, the music playing is the Jekyll & Hyde musical soundtrack with Anthony Warlow =D

HOME: What's In My Bag?

I've seen some 'What's In My Bag?' videos on youtube and I thought it might be fun to do my own - in photos instead of video. I'm one of those people who carry practically everything! And, of course, depending on the situation, I sometimes carry more like spare make-up, extra shoes, digital camera, drink bottle (usually Nutrient Water, Pepsi or Pine Punch Juice), snacks etc etc.

My bag is always too packed and it's apparent from the ill condition of my beautiful Radley bag that I bought on the ferry between England and France - my first purchase on the first day of my European holiday. It was hugely expensive and leather (bad me!) but I just loved it to pieces! Makes me sad that it's in such bad condition but I don't have the heart to throw it out - considering the money and memories.

NEW: White Bloom Paper Flora by Short Story

These beautiful White Bloom Paper Flora by Short Story arrived at my house the other day. They were a bit damaged during shipping due to their delicate nature but I think they've snapped back okay! The design on each flower is gorgeous - I love how simple they look until you look up close and you can see the intricate pattern on them - that's my favourite part about them.

I also received a gorgeous hand made card that's not available on the website =D I'm just having a hard time deciding if I want to keep it for myself or be generous and give it to someone as a present lol.

HOME: Lilly Leaf Lights by Short Story

 

I received these beautiful white Short Story Lilly Leaf Lights for Christmas and today I finally got around to putting them up. I've been a mucho bad procrastinator at putting them up but I've been lost on where to put them. I ended up wrapping them around the head of my four poster bed. I had considered it earlier but I have white curtains hanging from the head of the bed and faux white and pink roses wrapped around the two end poles - so I thought that the lights might clash.

But I'm so glad that I decided to try them there anyway because their light adds such a beauty, ambiance and almost magical look and feel to my bedroom. They are made from real leaves so when you spray them with water, the leaves open up. I swear, it's the most magical thing I've ever seen! No lie. 

I also love their Paper Flora! ... I just can't figure out which design I want yet ... there's too many to choose from lol! 

If any of my friends are reading this - guess where I'm buying your birthday presents this year? Short answer - Short Story :)

There comes a time in ones life when I must ask myself, "Do I own enough shoes?" Well, yes, I finally think I can say that I do ... doesn't mean that I will never want/buy more though :) I'm kind of surprised that I own exactly 50 pairs. I thought that I would have more.

My newest pair are my Dakar Boots by Betts  I bought yesterday - I'm so happy I waited and got them at a discounted price ... it pays to be a VIP Betts member!
