Oh hey March!
> What I Bought:
I had actually planned on buying nothing this month, but I was house sitting for a week and I had wanted to rewatch coming-of-age musicals like Descendants, ZOMBIES, Monster High and High School Musical. ZOMBIES ended up being my favourite so I ended up buying the first two ZOMBIES films on DVD second hand off eBay ($19.95) because you can't buy them in store anymore. I had some survey vouchers, so it ended up costing me nothing. Note/ I already owned Descendants and High School Musical on DVD before this month =P
Also, while housesitting, I went to a local indoor market and bought a bag ($30). I used to own the same bag and had been looking for a replacement ever since. I bought it in 2008 while on a ferry between Dover, England and Calais, France on my first day on my first ever trip overseas. I spent a fortune on it. I loved that bag so much, then my very sick cat threw up in it, and I could no longer use it. I never expected to find a replacement, let alone at a local market, so I didn't hesitate and I bought it on the spot. It's like having an old friend back.
I also picked up the photo frames I had made and they're wonderful ($560).
I was given another taste test visa gift card and used it at the cinema and also on some discounted Christmas decorations. I had a pit in my stomach while I was walking around preparing to purchase as I knew I didn't need them. I had $22.11 left on the voucher, and it came to $22, so meant to be or not? Who knows.
I was doing okay-ish and then I went to Ballarat for Ned Kelly... I went into the Ballarat Art Gallery shop beforehand (I really should know better) and bought another Chris Wright ceramic cat ($75). I wanted to resist. Even when I was buying it, I told the lady working there that I regretted buying my previous cat and I'm sure I'll regret buying this new one too. But I do love them more now because they look cute as a pair so yay?
I also bought a hairbrush, shampoo and conditioner but those were needed so that's okay.
And I luckily won a Birdie during their 100 in 100 hours Instagram giveaway. I'm really excited to own one (I always intended to purchase and might get another one day). I'm notoriously bad at opening my windows and I LOVE bird art (that should be obvious from my top two purchases last year) so I'm beyond grateful!
Total: $105
I went to the theatre for Ned Kelly: The Musical ($31 ticket/free programme). I went to the drive-in for Project Hail Mary ($20) and cinema for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come ($0) and They Will Kill You ($20).
> Temptations:
I was close to buying another bird crystal. I bought one last year (which was my best purchase of last year and I still believe that) but like I've said, I wanted a large showstopper and it's not it. I found one that I liked for a good price but every time I'm torn as I love the one I have more. Maybe one day I'll find another dream piece.
I was tempted to buy The Music Man (2003) DVD off eBay. Don't get me wrong, I still want it. But they're all Region 1 coded so won't work in my DVD player, so I'd have to make a copy of it without the region code, and I've forgotten how to do it. Is it even possible anymore? But I would definitely love to own it one day!
I also liked a Josh Setterfield t-shirt, as well as some clothing pieces at Dotti, H&M and Portmans.
I feel like I'm getting better at saying no to things, and that feels wonderful. But I am very aware that that five-month itch will soon be upon me, so I need to control myself to make good decisions when that time comes.
I almost bought a coat off the Salvos website, but it sold before I could. I found one on Depop but I haven't heard an answer from the person selling it if they will accept my offer or not. But I have a clear vision for it.
I am feeling overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I currently own and how much I have added to it lately :/
