LOVE: Dusted Sequin Blazer by Nasty Gal

How amazing is this Dusted Sequin Blazer by Nasty Gal? I'd wear it out casually but I'd love to wear a cream dress to a wedding and then have this blazer as a cover up during the reception. I'm so tempted to do just that - but I try not to buy something in which I have to buy something else to wear it ie a cream dress to wear it with.

But just give me a couple of weeks and then I'll probably crack and end up buying it anyway lol

EVENT: Chill On Ice Lounge and Ski Lodge

For my friend's 21st birthday, I bought her a voucher for the two of us for dinner and entry at the Chill On Ice Lounge and Ski Lodge in Southgate. And that's exactly what we did Saturday night. Details under the cut :)

Choosing an outfit to wear was the hardest. I tried on so many outfits but everything seemed too fancy or that I would be likely to freeze in the bar - but this is what I decided on. Tights would have looked so much nicer but leggings are warmer so I chose practicality over fashion - something I would never do normally but in -10 degree weather, I decided that it was the better option. The gold made it dressed up and I felt expensive lol.

NEW: 10 Level Shoe Rack

I've been meaning to do this blog entry for agesssssssssssssssssssssss! I ordered this shoe rack in February and, can you believe that?!, it arrived today! I put it together straight away and had it up in my walk in wardrobe within 30 minutes.

I keep all my flats downstairs (ballets, sneakers, flip flops etc) but I keep all my boots/heels upstairs so I can play around with them while I am planning an outfit for the day. I couldn't fit my wedges/boots on the rack though so they will be placed beside in boxes (just like the other two - I just need to buy some more boxes).

Also, in the photo there's only 8 levels - that's because I took one level out to fit my higher boots in. And the top level couldn't fit in the photo :\

LOVE: Palm Print Dress by Oasis

I've had the Palm Print Dress by Oasis in my ASOS wishlist for a couple of days now. I've been going back and forth between wanting it and not. For one, I can see me wearing it (especially in Queensland - I like the idea of it being a female play on a traditionally male Hawaaian shirt) but I also don't think it will suit me because it has a straight cut and not much waist (and wearing it with a belt will defeat the purpose of the print). So after much debate, I've decided to wait and see if it goes on sale. Then and only then will I consider it - after all, Queensland isn't until November and, with winter coming up, I think it would be silly of me not to wait :)

But tomorrow on the blog, I can't wait to share with you the night I had last night. Outfit post to come too.

LOVE: Horse Print Tee by H&M

If you don't know by now, I'm a HUGE fan of horse prints - so I try to control myself whenever possible so I don't end up with a wardrobe full of horse-related clothing. But this Horse Print Tee by H&M caught my eye. It reminds me of a scene in Lord of the Rings. I can't wait to get back to H&M this year ... hopefully ;)

LOVE: Houston by Ko Fashion

I'm on the lookout for some shoes like these Houston by Ko Fashion via style tread with the cork heel. Why, you ask? Well a friend of mine is coming from overseas in November, which also happens to be the month of my birthday, so I'm hoping to not only show her Melbourne, but also some other parts of Australia too. I'm thinking Sydney for two nights and the Gold Coast for two-four. I'm pretty lucky that I can get free accommodation wherever I go so it shouldn't be too expensive and it would make for a great birthday!

So, about the shoes, as everyone I would meet up with for my birthday is taller than me, I figure some extra height won't hurt - especially in photos :)

OUTFIT: With Sweet Understandstanding

It's been so cold lately! Luckily, I'm a winter girl and I love wearing boots, scarves, coats, jackets etc. I also love the creativity that comes with wearing layers. Summer is probably my most uncreative dressing period because in 40 something degree heat, I'd just rather pass out in front of the air con :)

LOVE: The Wreckoning Dress by Evil Twin

The Wreckoning Dress by Evil Twin via market hq

A friend of mine is celebrating her birthday by hiring a bus for all her friends (myself included) to go on a wine tour. I would love to wear this dress to the wineries - but if today is any indication, I think it's going to be a very cold winter. I guess I could always dress is warmer with long sleeves, leggings, trench coat, boots and scarf. I'd probably still be cold - but hey, at least I'd be a little warmer :)

The colour looks a bit dull in the photo but it looks lovely in person - it also comes in two colours and many sizes.

We shot these photos in the five minutes of sun that we got yesterday. Still I like the way the photos came out. This is actually one of my favourite 'I don't know what to wear today' outfits :)

EVENT: Supanova Pop Culture Expo 2012

Last Sunday, the geek in me went out and headed to Supanova Pop Culture Expo. I had only decidedthe night before that I was going to go. I went last year, but all my friends bailed on me this year (due to all of us not finding out about it until that same week). I was up at 6am - got the train before 7am and got to the gates at 8.30am. I was about 10th in line but didn't realise that I was in the pre-paid ticket line. Luckily the lovely guy beside me saved my spot (thanks Ryan! I owe you so much!). I lined up in the ticket buying line before being able to jump to the front of the queue where my spot was saved.

I downloaded the app and realised how tight my schedule for the day actually was.
11am - Photo with the Phelps twins
11am-11.50am - Rainbow Sun Francks and Cliff Simon - seminar
11.50am-12.40pm - Wil Wheaton - seminar
12.40pm-1.30pm - Phelps twins - seminar

So as soon as I walked in, I rushed to the store and bought my token to get my photo taken with the twins. I was third in line in the photo queue. I stayed in the queue for an hour chatting with another Harry Potter fan (the lovely Bridie) before finally getting my photo taken. I didn't have time to collect it because I had to rush over to the first seminar. I enjoyed seeing the preview to the new project that Rainbow, Jewel Staite and David Hewlett (LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM!) are working on. He also said he was grumpy and just like his character - which makes me love him even more!

Rainbow spoke about how he did a convention somewhere in Oklahoma (3rd fattest town or something) and they gave him trays and trays of food for lunch! Also that his stunt coordinator knocked him out - someone tweeted him and got a tweet back. He said it's cool to act like someone on drugs - because drugs are cool, fun or something ... dunno.

Cliff said the weirdest thing a fan had ever given him was something that a fan had gone to a lot of thought and effort to make but it smelt really bad so they kicked it into the bin.

They said that celebs are always more popular out of their own country. They spoke about how David Hasselhoff always says how popular he is in Germany. But when Cliff asked Germans what they thought of the Hoff, they said they don't know why he says they all adore him. Cliff also spoke about how horrible it is to go through customs here - took him 2 hours - he thought Melbourne would be better than Sydney but it wasn't. Rainbow said that he was stopped every time to do all the random airport tests IE drugs, bomb etc. He also said that he's popular in Italy.

I missed the start - maybe the first 5-10 minutes - but it ran overtime (good, in one sense, because it means more information, but bad when you have to run off to get to the next seminar)

I rushed over to see Wil after the seminar. I was late. The room was already packed by the time I got there. I snuck in the back and tried to pay as much attention as possible but he's very geeky and some of the things he spoke about, I had no idea what he was talking about. So sometimes my mind wanded. I'm not a big gamer or Trekky or anything like that so it was hard for me to sometimes concentrate. I've also never sat through a full episode of The Big Bang Theory.

I only knew him from Toy Soldiers but I needed to kill time inbetween and I thought he would be interesting so I decided to go along to this show. He spoke about Patrick Stewart, Big Bang, Melbourne Trains, his scroll in St Kilda/Brunswick, how stupid Americans are (his words, not mine) and more (will write more if I remember!) Those were the things that were more general and I could understand them. (by the way, I adore Patrick Stewert - Picard forever and all that).

After seeing Wil, I left the room and had to line up in a HUGE line for the twins. I ended up sitting in about the centre of the room so my seats weren't the worst - but weren't the best either.

The James and Oliver show was fun - there were so many random questions. My favourite by far was the chick who said "I'm 19 and I've never been kissed, will you be my first?". Classic. Close second was the chick who asked if they'd like a donut. Oliver declined but James said he would later. Other little bits of information: James called himself a ranga last time he was here because they don't use that term in England (means redhead just FYI). They talked about pranking Rupert, Twilight, working with Rob Pattinson, getting the roles, days on set, good genetics, getting their roles as which twin, favourites and other bits and pieces. James brought up penguins a lot. I wish I could remember more, I do.

After seeing the twins, I went back into the main room to collect my photo. That was a fun experience - not! The woman was really rude - I would go far as saying she was a bitch to me! - so it kind of put a damper on the whole experience.

After collecting my photo, I went to take some photos of the other guests but a lot of them were at lunch so I never got the opportunity to do so. It was around 2pm at this stage and I hadn't eaten all day; so I decided not to wait for the actors to return from lunch and I left.

All up it was a good day. I found out later that one of my friends was actually there so I could have gone with him - but he stayed all day so our schedules probably would have clashed. But maybe next year ... only if someone I like is there and actually worth seeing *coughDavidHewlettcough* :)

OUTFIT: She's a Little Runaway

A long long long time ago, I made a promise that I would take a photo of me wearing the Victoria tunic on my old blog. I never got around to it. So, I apologise, and here finally I've taken some photos :)

I love this tunic! It's one of my favourite wardrobe staples. Everyone always compliments on it :)

LOVE: Subi with Fucshia by Boston Babe

I'm totally obsessed with aztec prints at the moment! I'm just counting the days until I can head to Supre to buy the Tribe Printed High Waist Shorts (my local store has closed). So when I saw how many aztec shoes Boston Babe had on sale (the ones above are $25), I was really excited. I could have literally put every pair on here - they are all so amazing!

PS. There is limited stock and free postage Australian wide. So be quick! :)

EVENT: Ross Noble in Nonsensory Overload

These photos are rather awful as they were taken on my phone outside of the Palais Theatre - but last night, I had the pleasure of going to see Ross Noble in Nonsensory Overload -  aka the name of his new show. If you've ever been to one of this shows, you will know how sporadic and what's the word ... I don't really think there is one because he definitely has his own style.

His "jokes" (I say "jokes" because it's more like he just talks, rather than tell jokes) went from swallowing an giant egg whole, a naked oiled Larry Emdur riding a brown bear, The Wiggles sleeping with your mother (not to mention lots of drug/Jeff talk), Ross Noble the Wizard, shanks, "Personal" insurance, Naked tiger women, Bogans wanting straz and so much more. My mouth was sore from laughing within the first half an hour. Crazy. But it was a great show.

Just wanted to share my outfit from the show - once again, sorry for the bad photos - can you tell I cut my friends out? I don't think they'd want to be on here lol

OUTFIT: LMFF

To celebrate my internet coming back, I want to start with outfit posts. It's taken me so long because I'm a bit hesitant about having my face on the internet. It's silly, I know, but I think I'm ready. Be kind and I hope you like my looks.

My first look is one that I wanted to post back as part of LMFF. This was taken last year when I attended. I thought it would be nice to start with a look from the past before I start with looks from now :)

EVENT: TV Week 2012 Logie Awards

Ah, the Logies, it so amuses me that everyone kind of hates them but secretly kind of wants to watch it at the same time. It's that love hate thing how Aussies seem to bag anything that comes from here, yet we still kind of interested anyway. Still, I actually love an award show so I stayed up and watched the whole thing - it wasn't easy. I was so sleepy (was up at 6am - long day - long story).

Of course, one of my favourite things about an award show is the fashion on the red carpet. I was a little bored with some - I think a lot of people played it safe this year and some of the ones who really stepped out of the box got it incredibly wrong! If they are reading this, I'll dress you next year =D I have channel 10 connections ...

As for the show itself, the opening monologue by Adam Hills was funny and charming. I'm with him though, enough of putting idiots on TV (loved his crack about the Kardashians). I don't really do trash reality TV - I must prefer trash competition reality TV lol. I'm also very happy for Hamish to take the gold. I had a feeling that he would - even more so after Gap Year took out Most Popular Light Entertainment Program. But I would like to see Shaun Micallef take the Gold one day. I adore Shaun and I think he deserves it.

Another Logies has come and gone. Bring on next year! x

My best dressed picks are under the cut :)

I'm seriously considering buying this Contrast Color Light Blue Shirt by Romwe. I love the contrast of the black sleeves with the black buttons. Hmm ... should I? or shouldn't I? Well naturally the answer is yes, but then I always think 'what about the wedding'?
