It's spooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooky season!
> What I Bought:
Back in my April low/no buy wrap up, I wrote: "The items on my thrift wishlist include a blackwatch tartan scarf, pink sequin knee length skirt, replacement shearling jacket in black on black, dusty blue jumper, orange chunky cardigan and black studded skirt." Let's dissect that a little. I bought a blackwatch tartan scarf in June for $4 (I actually found the same exact item for 6x the price a while later randomly), I bought a pink sequin knee length skirt in August for $51 (before buying a second one that same month that I like better), I bought two replacement shearling jackets in June and July (both for $25 on Depop) and this month I finally found a black studded skirt I liked for $13.47 off Vinted, originally from River Island. I'm still on the hunt for the other two items.
I bought a replacement shirt ($9) on Depop. I've owned a shirt for at least 10-to-15 years, and mine is ripped at the cuffs. It's not too noticeable when it's on but considering I live in it (especially in summer), a second one wasn't the worst purchase I could make. And considering its age, finding a second one is a miracle at best.
I made some money from doing another taste test, so I got a pair of leopard boots from Khoko at Harris Scarfe that I mentioned last month. They were $20 down from $100 originally, but with the voucher it cost me nothing.
I also got a prawn Christmas plush ($14) that you will see in a December post. It's so precious. I didn't want to buy any new Christmas decorations, but I couldn't resist. I love prawn/lobster things. No more buying though.
Total: $36.47
I went to the theatre for Cry Baby: The Musical ($40 ticket & free programme). I went to the cinema for Verity ($20), Clayface ($24) and Hadestown: The Musical ($12).
> What I Learnt:
I've been really into Vinted lately and for a long time there I was quite tempted by many things. I even thought about doing a 'I spent $100 on Vinted, and this is what I got' type article. And although I have no current intention, maybe I still one day will do that but there's definitely been a gradual shift in my thinking from being tempted to buy many cheap clothes to now being content that I don't need extra. A lot of what I did want however were basics or items of clothing that I used to own that I got rid of because it no longer fit me.
> Temptations:
I'm tempted by a necklace from Pandora. It's funny as the more this month goes on, the more I convince myself that I don't need/want it. But I feel like I've spoken about/seen it so many times now that I have to get it.
Cute Halloween decorations are also REALLY tempting me but I'm pretty good knowing I don't need anything.
The Incognito Art Show now has five works for $150 (or $30 a piece) which is amazing but still too much for me. I want less for less rather than more for the same. It's for charity and I LOVE that and I have supported them at full price in the past, but I only want one or two artworks otherwise the others will go to waste with me.
